    Worth noting: The Hawaii Senate Judiciary Committee will hold a hearing today at 4:05 pm eastern time on HB1481, a bill to create a public financing system for the state legislature. As we reported last week, the bill has already passed the House.

    Good news in New Mexico! Thanks to the hard work of Common Cause New Mexico, the state legislature has passed legislation to update the public financing system for Public Regulation Commission and judicial elections. The legislation is a response to the Supreme Court's Arizona Free Enterprise System and adds a matching fund system similar to the Fair Elections Now Act proposed in Congress.

    Support for Fair Elections reform in New York State continues to grow, according to a Wall Street Journal poll released this morning. By a nearly two-to-one margin, 61 percent of voters support a small donor driven system of public financing in the state, with only 33 percent in opposition.
